We are looking to recruit for the following position:-
Maintenance Engineer
Job Purpose:
To maintain on-site machinery, recondition various equipment and ensure a planned Maintenance Schedule is followed.
Accountabilities:
- Managing and maintaining on-site machinery maintenance
- Implementing and managing a maintenance plan for the factory
- Involved with the company’s modern growth plan
- Working alongside the Works/Production Manager
Responsibilities:
- Carry out repairs to all aspects of engineering including welding, oxy-ethylene cutting, grinding, heavy mixer blade production and all types of pipe assembly
- Maintaining on site pug mills, press pumps, blungers and arcs to ensure they run efficiently
- Reconditioning various equipment and making ready spare replacement parts
- Attending to basic electrical breakdowns, fault finding and if necessary liaising with Electro Engineers
- Ensure that all on-site machinery is maintained through a Planned Maintenance Schedule
- Assisting Works/Production Manager who will give guidance on engineering requirements
Key Interfaces:
- Direct reporting to Works/Production Manager
- Working alongside Valentine Clays team both office based and on the factory shop floor
- Regular reports to the Managing Director
Essential Skills:
- Electrical knowledge preferable
- Trained & Certified in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven knowledge of previous Maintenance Engineering role (preferable but not essential in a pottery oriented environment)
Person Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisation skills
- Able to work on own initiative
- Good team skills
- Good time keeping and attendance
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, hours 8am to 5pm
- Job tools and equipment will be provided
- Safety boots/shoes & overalls will be provided
