I am a visual translator; I transform ideas into sculpture and found objects into art, using the grammar of clay and my own vocabulary. My work blurs the boundaries between outdoors and indoors, refined and vernacular, and industrial and homespun. I like to call attention to overlooked, ordinary aspects of our environment, such as utility covers in urban pavements or bones found during hill walks. The three works here were created with Georgian and Victorian ceiling roses in mind, evoking their layering and structure yet incorporating casts of fox and badger skulls that reference life in rural Herefordshire.

Shannon uses Parian Body when creating her sculptures.
